Old Stone Trade
OST collaborated with Mati to create a collection of garments inspired by the maritime heritage of Shetland. The collection includes a vest, a crew neck and a fisherman sweater, all hand crafted using carefully selected, locally sourced Shetland wools. The collaboration is part of the Artisans project and will be displayed at the Artisans exhibition during London Craft Week 2023.
Cos
COS approached Mati to design a small collection of garments. In line with COS minimalistic concept, Mati used the ‘grunds’ or filler motifs and exploded them to become the protagonist in the design. The grunds are often overlooked and not recognised as traditional motifs and yet you will rarely find a traditional Fair Isle design where they are not present. The collection is available online and in selected stores.
Daks
Mati was requested to integrate the Daks logo into a Fair Isle design to create a collection of three garments. An exclusive Daks Fair Isle Motif was created following the traditional appearance of the 19th century original motifs. The collection did not go into production.
